Actor Mollie Fitzgerald, known for her minor role in “Captain America: The First Avenger,” was arrested and charged in the stabbing death of her mother.
According to the Olathe Police Department, the 38-year-old was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly stabbing her mother, Patricia “Tee” Fitzgerald, to death. The 68-year old was found in her Olathe, Kansas home on December 20. Fitzgerald is being held in jail on a $500,000 bond with a second-degree murder charge. She is also scheduled to be arraigned in court on Thursday.
Fitzgerald played a “Stark Girl” in the 2011 Captain America film, and was also credited as the assistant to the film’s director, Joe Johnston. She has also produced and directed several films since then, including the “The Creeps,” and “The Lawful Truth.”
Patricia was in the process of moving back to the Kansas City area after living several decades in the Houston area. Her brother Gary Hunziker told The Kansas City Star that he knew few details about the circumstances of the crime.
“We were shocked,” he said. But, “it doesn’t matter the circumstances — the loss of a sister is what it’s all about.”
